Hi All,

In my mind I am quite new to Ford. I have owned an assorted mix of vehicles over the years. In 2003 I bought a new Chevy Suburban LT. It required a fair amount maintenance to keep it rolling along, when it hit 170k miles in 2015, I decided to trade it in on a Ford. I have only had a couple of Fords in my lifetime and they were not my favorite cars but in all honesty, I had acquired them when they were at the end of their lifespan, when my disposable income was pretty meager. In Dec 2015 I decided to trade my Suburban in for a 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum which I now lease. Overall I have been pretty happy with this vehicle. My lease will be up in about 9 months and I am trying to decide if I should just purchase it or look for something else. I am hoping to gather some information from this forum to decide if keeping this Explorer makes any sense.

Were you the first user on the lease?

If so, then you know the history of the vehicle and how well it's been kept up.

I did that with my 98.

Back then married, kids, no $$$$ you know the drill.

Ordered the 98 as a special order from the lease and then bought it back when the lease was due.

I put in a request with the same dealer for a used purchase about 4 months before the lease was up.

Color, Body Style, Option package etc.

When I turned the car in for lease termination the computer spit out a match for my vehicle.

Basically drove home in my truck for a used car price.

does it have all the features you want? If so, then buy it at used price.
