KKM install qeustion

I just installed my KKM on my X and I have a round gasket left over. I could not figure out how to use it so I read the directions and it said to disreguard it if I dont have a round filter. Is this correct? Also, there is a slight "whoosh" noise when I pump the throttle. It sounds like air going into the filter, is it normal??

By the way I know it's normal for air to go in the filter, It's the noise I'm curious about.

The "whoosh" sound when you hit the throttle is normal... As for the round gasket left over,Sorry can't help ya there.

could you describe this gasket? it's not blue and red is it?

it's blue and orange about an inchwide and about 3" in diameter

neat... that is for my 95, it may be for others however... the stock MAF sensor is smaller in diameter than the stock intake tube, putting that gasket inside your intake tube will make it the same size as the MAF... assuming you took off the stock air box.

did that make sense?

springtensi0n is dead on. The 95 used a smaller MAS flange and that gasket acts as an adaptor. Your '97 shouldn't need it.

Actually,
If you would like to make a couple of bucks off of it, I will take it off your hands. I bought mine for my '95 used and didn't get the adapter piece. I made one using a v-belt, but it would be nice to have the real thing.
