Ok, I got a KKM used, and it came with: mounting brackets, kkm filter, and the metal plate that hooks to the mas. Am I missing the thing that make the vaccum hose connect, if so or not, where can I get one, and if not, where does the vacuum hose go???????

You say its USED? Do you know what year Explorer it was originally for?

Mine on my 99 V6SOHC has no vacuum connections, nor did the stock system.

on the early Xs there is just a plug that covers the vacumn tube and the other on just gets left open...then you ziptie them out of the way of anything moving.thats it!

I dont seem to have this plug, can i make one somehow?

ps i have a 1992 xlt

On my KKM filter they sent a bolt to put in the end of the one hose. I don't think it was anything special so you can use any bolt.
The other one came off with the stock box.
Hope this helps.

Hi Boats

The KKM doesn't have any vacuum connection. There are two vacuum lines going to your existing airbox:

1 from the intake manifold supplying the vacuum source.

1 from the damper mounted in the air intake tube coming from the front of the grille area. On my '94 its under/next to the battery shelf.

Plug the line from the intake manifold. discard the other one.

Works good. Gleaned from the Instructions with the KKM.

My KKM kit did not have any plugs or provisions for a vacuum line. It is for a 99 though.

Thanks guys, I will just use a bolt and plug her up, and tie them off, thanks. I will just leave the other one hangin'. Ya'll helped me fast as usual!

Hey, you k now that other vacuum hose, I know yall said I dont need to plug it, but if I did what would it do?
