Knight Rider Light w/ Parking Lights

ok i looked up my state laws for this and an wondering if you are reading it the same way i am :

No non-emergency vehicle shall operate or install emergency flashing light systems such as strobe, wig-wag, or other flashing lights within the headlight assembly or grill area of the vehicle.

i already have strobes...oh well but this means i can have the knight rider light in fromt of my grill, just not in it correct?

ok i just found out after searching deeper into tenn laws... they say i cannot have any fun.... the question is : do i obey or do i disobey

In Texas you can have anything installed that you want, just you can't use the illegal stuff on the road. I think according to the way the TN law is worded, no "abnormal" lights on the front of the vehicle are legal, used or not. However, you're probably ok if you stick the knight rider light somewhere where its not too visible when it's not on.

does anyone know how i can wire my Knight Rider light up to my alarm so when I exit my car and arm the alarm the knight rider light comes on???

also how i can wire it to a separate switch at the same time so that i can just switch it on when i'm driving if i want to???

thanx

I wouldn't use you're light with the car off, it might drain too much power if the car is off for a day or so.

However, it's easy to connect it to two different leads. Just have a lead going in from the ground of your alarm system (powered when alarm on), and also a lead from a switch that you've powered from the battery. Have these both going into the power of the lights. That way the lights will get power 1) when the alarm is on or 2) when the switch is thrown.

Has anyone ever seen one of the Knight Rider lights in any color other than red? I'd like a blue one..... ;) Thanks!

They make them in Amber or Red...

However, my friend and i thought up something that is possble, just hasnt been done yet.

To buy LED's and take out the normal bulbs and colred plastic, and have any color LED (like the VARAD BRIGHT MOFER"S) and since LED's do not need any "time" to start up, it will appear like strobe lights when the knight rider light is on its fastest setting..it will be frigin pimp if i do it this summer ;)
