Looking for feedback on an issue in the rear end of my 07 xlt. When I hit a sharp bump like roadway deformities, or potholes, I can hear a "clacking" type sounds when my car hits these sharper type bumps. Bumps like speeds bumps dont seem to actuate the sound. Any ideas? Thanks for the help

Rear stabilizer links.

That's my thought, too, or the bushings.
See if you can get the noise at lower speeds by hitting a speed bump or driveway approach at an angle, so that the rear wheels go over the bump at different times. This is what loads a sway bar.
...or just get under the truck and inspect.
The swaybar bushings are difficult or impossible to see in the rear, as they are tucked up behind something else (I forget what). But you can see them easily (and service them) by removing the rear wheels.

Thanks for the help. Ordered a new rear sway bar link kit. Yea it only happens when one wheel hits a larger or smaller bump than the other. When I hit a bump that affects both of the rear wheels the same, no noise.

Bingo!
