Hi guys, hope you all doing well.
2005 explorer xlt
I have just replaced head gaskets and rear timing cassette and tensioner. Had a real ball sorting the timing.
Now after months of putting in a few hours each weekend, finally started it only to discover a nasty knocking/tapping sound coming from the engine. Hard to describe but I guess it could be compared to really noisey tappets?
This really has me stumped, and I hope someone out there is able to help.
(I don't think it will be chain cassettes as the rear one is brand new and the front one was still good)
Been a lot of time and money spent on it and would really love to see her fully drivable.
