Last year of manual transmission?

I thought the last year of the manual was 2002, but I am finding a few '03s for sale with the manual transmission in the central part of the US. What gives?

01 was the last year for manuals for the Explorer. The Explorer Sport (a completely different model) on the other hand, was apparently still available with manual, probably till it was discontinued (05?). Was this 03 you saw a 2 door or 4 door model? If it was 2 door, it's an Explorer Sport.

Actually, I am looking at 2-door Sports. I didn't realize they were considered a whole different model with different options. Thanks!
