Late 80s B2000 Advice

Alright, yalls best guess now, had my girlfriend tag along today, we strapped it to the rado and dragged it around, keep in mind, clutch pedal still does jack squat till I decide to buy and replace the slave and master cylinder. So apparently in first gear, or any gear for that matter, the rear end locks up, literally had it in first and was DRAGGING it out of the unit. Neutral is the only way it moves without locking up, and while it's in neutral being dragged, I can't switch to any gear at all, only into reverse, which I'd did do a couple times since it would still help jolt everything, not happily. But did that a good few times, drug around for a good lil' bit, and nada. Engine still won't even get more than a THUNK from the starter. Guess it's oil pan time, cause I got literally nothing else in mind, and rather not drag it around again with barely any brakes lol
I'm not much help with guesses now. Pull the distributor. Old co worker has a locked up 400M and it's something with the distributor gear. I'm imagining a rod wedged between the crank and cylinder wall.

I can do that before the pan I guess, if it and the teeth are fine, guess I'm pulling the pan. Getting real tired of this thing

5.0 is needed

Or the dang kubota swap, almost prefer that for the fun/mileage, as annoying as a swap as it would be lol

It would be easier to fit a kubota in than a 5.0. Starter, throttle plate and fuel solenoid is enough to make it run.

Exactly the thought! Only trouble is finding one that's good, for cheap, then upgrading it to a turbo and such, and making a trans adapter for a 5 or 6 speed tranny of some kind. Want to keep the manual if I can, if I need/want an automatic to drive, I'll have the X, or the rado lmao

No joke, watched a video the other day on a kubota 722 (think is was a 722 or something like that) swapped Saturn car, sucker at ideal conditions and upgrades, was up to 80mpg....even 30 would be awesome to me, and that thing setup like that could be making like 60mpg then! Would love that so much

I watched that, where he was making the adapter plate, he has several videos showing the progression of the car.

Surplus auctions they can go cheap. Medical facilities use backup generators with kubota diesels, I've seen low how generators get sold cheap. It's easier to do a manual transmission.

Yeah, going to be using that guy for reference once I get to that point, definitely detailed a good few things I'll need!

That's a great idea actually, my boss follows a few auctions around, have to get some info on them from him and see what I can find! That's also partially why, less to deal with on a manual for sure! Lmao
