Hi all,

96 ford explorer 6cyl 4x4
My girlfriends truck started shifting late last week and the OD light started blinking, I replaced the valve body with a rebuilt one but it still does it ., whats the next step?

Where did you get the replacement valve body? A lot are used and cleaned up but not really rebuilt.

getting so frustrated, change both speed sensors, alot a complete loss,

check engine light still on, error code, soilnoid stuck open,

someone,,,, anyone

If a solenoid is stuck open you either have a solenoid problem, or there is a computer control issue that is actuating solenoids incorrectly.

The speed sensors don't relate to your problem unless there is a trans code indicating one of them. You said check engine light is on, the check engine light is for the engine and not the trans, trans problems are indicated by the OD light flashing. Just my opinion but where you got the valve body from the odds are against you of getting a good one. You need to post the DTC, code for the trans. A good valve body should have fixed the problem, again just my opinion. If you have an engine problem it can make the trans not shift right.

If you are getting that code P0756 with the replacement valve body, then solenoid number 2 (SS2-SSB) is bad, replace it with solenoid number 4 (SS4-SSD) from the first valve body, this can be done with out removing the valve body. Connect the solenoid to 12 volts and see if it functions, also it should read between 22-48 ohm's, before in stalling. On the side with 4 solenoids number 4 is the 2nd one from the front of the SUV back and number 2 is the 3rd one back same side.Remove the one shinny bolt and lift the metal clamp be careful under the SUV that the solenoids don't jump out as they have spring pressure on them. Your short answers make it hard to give advice as I don't know what is really going on and I am no expert just giving advice from what I think I know. While you have the pan down be sure to check the solenoid wire for bare spots or missing insulation.
