Hey! I used the wiring kit and the switch on this link http://www.gizmosforall.com/photos/frracingwirekit.jpg, but I modified the wiring kit to use it without the relay and use it my way:P and I mounted the switches under the steering wheel, right beside the curved piece. I'll try to get pics soon!

Here they are!!... This is the way they go thru the roof and how I installed the switches.

That's one of the nicest lookin 4th gens I've seen that I liked. Were you hesitant on putting holes in your roof for the lights?

Now its All Clear to me :)

i really appreciate your Help buckflash, now i will try to install me lights
and i will post some pics on it when im done.

thanx again for your Help :)

Love that roof rack! I'd love to do that to my 06 Limited. The only limiting factor for me is that my Limited is silver and I would be spray painting either gray or silver instead of powder coating and it's probably going to get scraped off if I actually used it.

Where did you get the bungy net from?

The first thing I thought of when I saw this amazing Ex. It could pass as an C.O. vehicle, just slap on the conservatoin officer logo on the side and go scare some teenagers.

Hey I loove your truck. Ive got the same thing goin on but mine is white and I dont have a brush guard or safari rack on. Im impressed at how great yours turned out! I actually wanted to paint mine a flat black n look pretty much just like yours but ive got white with black on black tires n wheels. Just put a CB ball mount on the right rear quarter panel behind the tire with a black antenna. So *****in! Anyways- the safari rack with the offroad lights on it-how did you run the electrical wires? Do you have an internal switch- where is it mounted? Same question for the lights on the brush guard. What are you running for the power source? Straight from the battery? Sorry for the 20 questions! But thank you for any help you can give!

Hey no problem for asking! That's why the forum is still running heh??

The wires are going from the light thru the frame of the rack and then they go thru a hole I made in the roof and go down the corner of the windshield inside and I plugged them directly to the new battery I bought.

The switches are mounted underneath the steering wheel close to my knees.

From the brush guard, the lights run a wire directly to the battery going thru the front grille.

They are a couple pictures above where you can see some of the instalation tips

Feel free to ask more!

There they are!!!... I mounted it this afternoon!!

custom made by myself and my neighboor!!!

I have no idea why I havn't got around to saying this before but Buck, you sir are my hero. This is how ALL roof racks should look. I dont understand the 2 inch tall surco racks lol..

I had a idea pretty close to yours for my wrangler, but after seeing the movie "I Am Legend" I totally wanted to do this to my explorer after seeing Will Smiths expedition haha.

I think he has enough lights though haha. I'm not sure when I'll be getting around to making one myself. But I plan on getting a different explorer first. I think white or flat black would be sick like the expedition.

Dude - your ex looks friggin awesome, just had to say. My 03 is black and I am inspired.

Did I read correctly that your running your aux lights off a second battery, and if so, where did you put it.

when is the lift going on?
nice truck!

Nice Favorite 4th Gen how did you route the wires from the roof rack lights into the cabin or battery? I want to do this soon thanks again.

I need a hand buckflash, I have a 2010 Explorer 4x4 V8 4.6L XLT, before K&N 63 Series Aircharger Kit, the car was making 20Liters/100Km and after installing K&N (disconnected totally the battery) is making 28Liters/100Km; information from the odometer/computer of the car.

Increase in HP is easily noted.

Supposedly the K&N will increase the gas mileage; I do not know what happen.

You may want to try to manually calculate the gas consumption by filling up at a gas station, then when you get to about half tank or so go back to the same gas station in the same spot and fill up, then divide the kilometers you went by the amount of liters you used.
