I was just wondering, am I the only one here to lubricate the leaf springs?

I use a mix of used motor oil (for the color) and diesel. Just spray with a spray gun. Pretty nasty stuff but it gives a smoother ride and a litlle bit more of flex to the rear end.

Woops! Wrong section, probably needs to be transfered to the 'suspension' one...
Moderator, do your trick.
Sorry about that...

hey-
I see you are in Ft. Meyers, have you checked out www.flexplorers.com yet, we have done a few runs around the state. Welcome to the site, you should come out on a run sometime.

Hey! MY leaf springs creek like crazy. MY mechanic said to spray them with used oil. What kind of spray gun did u use? is it like a paint spray gun or more like squirt type.

I usually use a paint spray gun. It works fine w/ a mix of used oil and diesel.
One of my friends uses motorcycle chain oil in spray cans. Works fine too. Doesn't require a compressor but a litlle more expensive...
Anyway, stop by the car wash first and remove all the sand/mud w/ a high pressure washer.
Good luck, let us know if that helps.

Do you spray it all over the leaves or anywhere in particular?
Thanks

From the sides, trying to get the oil to reach in between the leafs.
