I have another problem with my '92 Ford Explorer. While getting out of my Ex, I heard gushing water coming from the front. I saw that it was the radiator (with steam). I opened the hood and noticed the water was gushing from the side of radiator facing battery. I was able to let it cool down and saw that there is like a 6" crack in the plastic housing around the end of the radiator.
I don't know if there is any internal damage or does water flow through that plastic housing? How does that work? Temporary I am trying JB Weld on the crack with finishing tape. I found radiators for around $120-$270. I know (I assume) I'll need a new radiator but will this patch job last week another week until I will have more time to replace the radiator (on my vacation)? I have read up on removal/installation of radiators and I most certain I can do it myself.
Any suggestions??
