I'm going to attempt to do the overhead console led mod and have a question. First off, I am not an electronix guy. Check my sig, I'm a Chef! But I have done shocks/balljoints/UCA's/MAF/IAC, etc.. stuff. I did a hatch lock actuator sometime back also.
I've got the overhead console out and the flexi-circuit is shot so I figured I'd try the LED mod. LEDs will be here this week but before I solder (yes, I can solder) everything in, want to test it out. If I buy a simple $5 12v battery at Home Depot, can I power up 16 or so pre-wired (with resistor) LEDs to test this out before I jack it into the Exploder for good? I just want to test it out to see if the drv/pass switches work, and if the thing will light up, etc.

Thanks for any feedback!

A regular 9v should light them up although dim for testing purposes if you got one around. That's what we use at work to test less in stuff we make at work.

i think there's a thread someone posted here that has tips and photos. it looked pretty easy to do. what you've suggested sounds like it should work. the main thing with LED bulbs is that they only will work if installed with the current going one way (it's what diodes do).
