My wife got home from work tonight and said the low beams were not working. The high beams work fine either on permanently or flash to pass. I've read many of the posts on here about similar problems, but generally these are just one side out or an EB version. Mine is an XLT so it doesn't have the fancy computer screen in it.

I've checked the bulbs, they're good. I've checked the fuses and they're fine. Could it still be the multi function switch?

Thanks in advance for any help. My wife will enjoy driving with headlights again.

welcome to the forum lwerdmann i hope u get ur headlights situation fixed.

check the low beam line/wire before the fuse panel.. couldnt remember the color of the wire but if you have a haynes manual its there.. try diagnosing it one area at a time;
-check from the output sockets (you did this already)
-then check from the fuse panel (you did this already)
-then check from the feed wire to the fuse panel
-then check from the switch and the switch itself (whichever comes first, fuse or switch)
-then check the wire to the power source

doesnt the low beams have a different knob type switch on the dash panel? i know the high beams are the one routed to the multi function stalk switch wherein it bypasses the low beams when pushed forward or when the flash-to-pass function is used..

i opted to make a new wiring harness for my headlights since its a whole lot easier to do and i get to use relays plus heavy gauge wiring while utilizing the original knob switch and high beam stalk switch in preparation for my HID retro proj. i also made a separate fuse panel for it making the original wiring act as a trigger switch instead of them carrying the current load and i havent encountered any electrical glitches yet..

anyway, goodluck in finding whats causing the problem..

Thanks for the advice I'll work my way through the list and see what I find.

most likely your headlight switch is bust... of course, you need to check to see if voltage is coming into and leaving it when you lights are selected. If there is, then its your MFS.
