I am thinking about getting some type of rack for my chevy. Its a short bed extra cab. I am getting sick of always sticking things way out the bed. Mostly I am looking for something to carry maybe long ladders, long pieces of base/crown moulding, probably toss a few long 2x on it as the need arises, and of coarse I need a way to get the long pieces of tube home for ranger projects :D

So on racks you have used what have you liked an not liked?

Did you build it yourself or buy it? Would you do it again or not?

How much did you pay for it?

I have the tools to build my own so that is not out of possibilities however time is tight so buying may be a better option.

My dad actually has two of those racks. They use to make them right behind my house at a handicap van conversion place. But they sold that part of the business.

But yeah, he likes them. Had one of his super duty and bought one for his F150 too. Cool thing is you can take the rear bar out (above the tail gate) to make riding a quad into the bed a little safer. :p
