License plate lights not working

I was informed that the license plate lights were not working.
I installed new bulbs, that didn't work.
So I pulled the inside panels off of the tailgate and noticed the connector for the lights were disconnected.
Plugged the connector in and the lights now work.
Unfortunately I broke one of the two housings so it's off to the dealer to buy replacements.

A friend of mine told me it's common for upfitters to pull the plug so the plates won't light up at night as part of "dark mode" feature.

Upfittera and depts do all kinds of strange stuff. Be thankful they actually unplugged rather than cutting wires.

Ain't that the truth?! That was another reason I wanted to buy a new one or an almost new one.
