unless its something new to me they're talking about locking the axles with a locker such as detroit, arb, etc. its so both tires will spin even if one has less traction.

Yep, ranger-93 hit the nail on the head.

thanks just wanted to get clear on that lol

Yep what ranger-93 Said

look into it first to see if its something you really need. if you ever go off road, then i say its the best mod you can make hands down. i installed mine myself and got it all done for under 300 bucks. best 300 bucks i ever spent. do some reading, figure out what type you want, and if you make a go of it, then hit me up any time you have any questions, id be happy to point you in the right direction.

depends on what set up you go with. detroit's and arb's can run 400+ just for the locker itself plus installation which require setting up ring and pinion because these lockers are the carrier as well. lunchbox lockers such as lock-right dont cost quite as much and also dont require setting up ring and pinion because all they do is replace the spider gears in the carrier.

Ok, so for a college kid looking to make a more suitable off road rig, which would you recommend? :D haha, there is an offroad park like 15 minutes away and Im scared to go because of all the Heeps and Jacked trucks I see drive home on the end of sunday...

That's no reason to be scared. Get scared when you see them heading there but nobody returns.

if you are on a budget but want to get a set of lockers, go with a lunchbox type. easiest install, no compressor needed and you wont have to tap into the pumpkin. i went with the aussie lockers, best decision ive made so far with my trac. did mine for under 300 bucks. the downside to lunchbox lockers is you cant switch them off so i wouldnt slap them on the front diff if you still have a DD. a set of lockers in your rear will do you just fine.

Alright, Aussie Locker added to my list :) maybe next year it'll happen, tires and wheels are this summers big purchase
