Ok guys I want to put a lsd in my front diff ASAP. I was looking at a dana trac-lock. The description says dana 35 reverse rotation all ratios IFS will this one work? Four wheel parts whole salers has it for 225 bucks. Does anyone have any experience with this or any other lsd under 300. I wish I could get an ARB but I also need to buy books for collage and I am on a tight budget. I would like to put an Aburn but their lsd for the dana 35 is not out yet. Any suggestions or comments. In a hurry, Thanks RobbieJ

Are you going to do this yourself or have them do it. I know the instal prices for the gears are horid, and I'm sure for lockers or lsd it's about the same. Make sure you put that into the budget if you're going to have them do it.

I have a mechanic that works for my dad that will do it for me for free. He has done alot of diff work in the past so he is qualified for the job.

NO, it won't. That applies to '95+ front diffys and has nothing whatsoever to do with yours.

"I have a mechanic that works for my dad that will do it for me for free. He has done alot of diff work in the past so he is qualified for the job." No matter how qualified he is, he will have a heckuva time fitting a product designed for my '99 onto your vehicle.

You can still get your Trac-Loc. Just make very sure it is the one for YOUR Exporer and not a later-model IFS like mine.

Hope that helped.

Thanks for the help. That will make it a hell of a lot easier. Is the track-loc a good unit? Does any one have any comments. Thanks Rob

I have a Trac-lok in the front on mine, so yes they do have them for earlier model Explorers. I think it's still the only LS available for the Dana 35, so you don't really have another choice. It will noticably help offroad, especially if you have something in the back, too.
