My suspension has been getting a little rough and I am wondering what good suspension lifts there are for my 2000 mercury mountaineer

Welcome to the forum, I moved your thread to the 2nd Gen section.

How high do you want to go?

I just put 2" in the front and 3" in the back.

You can't go more in the front if you're 4WD/AWD like mine, without spending a couple grand for the now discontinued Superlift kit.

I used new springs which were rated higher, 1750 lbs per side vs original 1250, with an Add a Leaf plus Warrior shackles in the rear and new torsion keys in the front. I'll defend the use of new key vs a TT. The keys allow the bars to not be twisted as far, thus not increasing the spring rate. The ride is no where near as harsh as a TT is. The keys basically change the starting point.

I replaced the front shocks with new Ranchos made for the 1-2" lift. The rears (coilovers) appear to be long enough in the rear.

My truck actually rides smoother now.

I would recommend this to everyone, Ford should've made them this way.

These are the parts I used.

PM me your phone number or email addy and I'll send you a couple of pics so you can see how much lift I ended up with.

The keys would lift the front more but I only went up 2" because of the front axle.

I just bought a set of 2014? 18x8 Mustang rims, in a couple weeks I'm going to put some 265/70/18's on.

i need new rear springs for my sport, thanks for posting your source... your link wasn't bringing me to the exact product you ordered...was it this set you ordered? http://www.autoandtrucksprings.com/products/Ford_Explorer_Leaf_Spring_Rear_HD-1281-0.html
The HD version for $135 vs the other set for $84?

And did you use the WAR shackles also? I thought I read you were not going to use them in another thread.... I currently have stock springs, add-a-leaf and warrior shackles (that have rusted through would need new ones)....have been debating ordering superlift springs but sounds like yours worked out for you...

Thanks!

Those are the ones.

With the ProComp long Add A Leaf.

I went back and put the Warriors in, they were sitting there in the garage.

I just put 265/70/18 Coopers on yesterday.

Thanks for the info!

If you were closer, I'd say bring it over and I'd help put them in.

But south Florida is a bit of a drive.

I love South Florida! I've spent a lot of time in FL over the years, I have family further north. I love the humidity and the beach!
