What is the cheapest possible way to lift a '94 XLT 1-1.5 inches?

Also, what is the difference between a suspension lift and a body lift?

The cheapest way is to purchase coil spring pads for the front and add-a-leafs for the rear. If you decide to do this be sure you don’t get the coil spring inserts as they distort the coils. The spring pads are simply poly or rubber "donuts" that go underneath your coil springs.

A suspension lift for Explorers typically lowers the mounting location of the twin traction beams in the front and uses new longer and stiffer coil springs. The back is commonly lifted by either add-a-leafs or new leaf springs. A body lift simply raises the body off the frame.

I have a set of coil spring pads that I am not using. I'd be glad to sell them to you for $10 + shipping. They were $24 new.

I also have a set of Performance Products progressive coil springs (1" lift version) and add-a-leafs that I would be willing to sell. This setup provides about 1.5" of lift on a 4-door and nearly 2" on a 2-door.

Hope this helps…
