Lift gate swap from 02 to 06

I was wondering if it is possible to install a lift gate from an 06' model onto my 02' it appears the bodies are the same style, making it likely that exterior parts are interchangeable for the most part. I like the look of the 06 lift gate plus I wouldn't have to worry about that stupid panel cracking again.

many threads about people asking this...if you search youll find them...the 4th gen fits on the 3rd gen but the wiring harness is different and you would have to cut and splice it in...
