I have a '99 xplorer sport XLT and have considered a suspension kit for it. Is Superlift the only manufacturer that prvides kits for this vehicle?

I also found the Superlift kit, about 4" big bucks though.

4x4 or 4x2?
4x4 = Superlift ($1400 parts) and RCD ($2100 parts). Both require a new front driveshaft
4x2 = either of those or lift spindles (few hundred..?)
A lot of people use a body lift, much less money ($250 range)
31x10.50's fit stock. A lot of people will adjust the torsion bars for 1-2" of height up front, and longer shackles in the rear and run 32-11.50s

Brianjwilson basically covered all the options out there for our trucks.

I don't really consider that a lift kit so much, but others might. Nevertheless, it is another option for him to consider. But that is a much bigger investment than any aftermarket lift kit, and not just anyone is capable of tackling a project like that.

Hey:brianjwilson

I got a 2000 Explorer Sport and I would like to do the:torsion bars for 1-2" of height up front, and longer shackles in the rear.

Can you give me a link where I could find the 2inch lift shacles & any link here on how to do the front Tortion bars. And lastly you would need a front end elignment after this I would guess? Any down side to this style of lift?

Hey thanks for any help you can give me here.

I have a question. What are your wanting to do with your lift? Is it just for looks or are you wanting to do some more serious off roading. This will determine what kind of lift kit you should look into. Oh and welcome to the site.

To All, Thanks for the help,so far.
First- 99 XLT Sport 4x4, 4.O
2nd- Looks and utility. I'm a structural steel inspector and sometimes go bouncing around job sites for work. Currently, I have a 95 Nissan Hardbody 4x4 ext. cab that has just over 226K and I don't know how long it will last.
The Exp. is my wife's vehicle and we will probably get something for her in the spring. Oh, and by the way, the Exp. only has 73K on it!
