I recently purchased a '97 Ford Explorer XLT and am wanting to lift it. I would like some advice from the pros out there! What size lift do you recomend? Where Can I get it for the best price? And what size tires and rims do you recomend??

Answers to these questions would be great!
Thanks!

there are a couple diffrent options for you, use the search fearture and you will ocme up with lots of info. you can do a 2" or 3" body lift about 100- 140$

a small 2" suspinsion lift can be done by cranking the torsion bars and adding war-153 shackles out back. the tt is free and the shackles are 60$ roughley

and there is a 4" lift kit available but its 1500-2000$

just use the search feature and you will find all the info you need

Where are you from?

I'd look in to a body lift if you don't want to pay the $1400 for a Superlift 4" suspension lift. You can also adjust the torsion bars for 2 more inches and maybe throw on some extended shackles and all-a-leafs to raise the rear for 5" total. Then you could get some 33" tires on an 8" wide wheel. You'd be good to go.

I purchased a Superlift 4" lift for my Explorer. The rear leaf springs they sent me were a little wide for the hangar and socket. I ended up using the stock spring, add a leaf, and long shackles. One other problem is the sway bar end links. They come with a greasable ball joint type end. After some wheeling, they will start to rattle real bad. I ended up welding the end straight up and down and it works quietly and beautifully. The rest is a straight up bolt in. The system works very well. I also put 32x11.5R15 tires on my stock rims. Now it does not look like the millon others that are out there. Enjoy!!
