Lift or Lower?

Hi I'm new to this forum and Explorers. I wanted to lift it but I am reading that you can't do a suspension lift on an 03 is this really true and why? I have seen I can do a body lift but I was wondering if I should just lower it instead? Please give me your thoughts. TIA!

Really you should search some more to get your answer, but I'll give you the short and skinny. Ford went with a IRS rear suspension on the 02+ 4doors, when they did this, they got the bright idea to run the rear axle through the frame. You can lift it with a coil-over kit, or so has been speculated, about 2". That coupled with a 3" body lift and bigger tire's may make for a nice X.

I was planning on doing all of this next year, but after almost killing my transmission 2 weeks ago. I will more than likely buy a beater or 4-wheeler and wheel with that instead.
