Hey yall. I was just wondering. I have the superlift 4" system with new rear springs. If I ever want to upgrade to the 5.5", what am I going to have to do? I know I will need new front springs, but what about the rear ones? Thanks

Do you have the spring under or spring over. I know that's how the 5.5 gets its lift is by the spring over. To lift the rear higher with a spring over is easy. For the best results you can get new springs or you can use blocks to lift the rear. Both will work fine with new springs being the better of the two(more expensive too). The blocks seem to be the coice though due to cost.

Do you still have your old spring pack? If you want to upgrade from the 4" (SUA) to a 5.5" (SOA) I would imagine your best bet would be to use your original spring pack. They're the ones intended to be used with that particular lift kit. 4" springs located over the axle will give you way more lift than the front. Maybe you can remove some of the leaves, but that might present a safety hazard. You might just want to keep the 4" springs in place and add longer shackles. In theory, 3" longer shackles will provide 1.5" of lift. That 1.5" of lift added to your already existing 4" leaf springs will total 5.5". Presto! Add-a-leaves are not an option! SOA's offer more ground clearance and flex but are notorious for wearing out the springs. If I still had the original springs then I would go with the SOA. If not, then the addition of longer shackles should work out fine. The choice is yours.

YES ADD-A-LEAF IS AN OPTION! I would just use an add-a-leaf. They are only 30-60 made for 4 inch lift springs. They will stifen the rear a little but I like em better than the shackes.
