Hey Folks,
I have a '92 X with about 74K miles oni it, it still has the stock (no grease nipple) U-joints and transfer case and rear axle mounted dampeners (big heavy rubber mounted things).
Could use some more advice:
1. Although they seem good now, I expect the original u-joints to give it up soon after I have the lift and 33" tires on (based on previous experience lifting j**ps) - what do you guys recommend as replacements? I always like to go with greasable u-joints, but have heard that the grease channels make these weaker than permanently lubed versionjs? Any experice with the Moog / Spicer "heavy duty" models?
2. Can I shuck the vibration dampeners without much adverse effect? (I ask because the bolts are so corroded I may have to cut'em off)
Thanks.
Malcolm
