Liftgate/Glass Ajar message

2010 Eddie Bauer 4.0L V6
Randomly and infrequently, the liftgate glass will unlatch. I get the notice on the dashboard. Close the glass, it latches and all is good until the next random and infrequent occurrence. I can't seem to identify what triggers this to happen. It has done this for years. Inconvenient.
Thoughts?

That's happened to me infrequently also over the years. Not consistent - totally random - maybe at most 10 times a year. Get in - start it up - and get the message. I've always assumed it was because the Ex was in the garage - I spend a lot of time working in the garage - and the keys are in my pocket. Pretty easy for another key to hit the button when I'm moving around a lot. I've actually set the alarm off more than once when I was working on something else.
