Liftgate Window Removal

Has anyone ever considered driving without the liftgate window? Is it possible to remove it and create a removable replacement?

There's not much to do to take them off.

-Remove the terminals for the rear defrost.
-Keep the lift shocks connected to the glass. just remove the c-ring from the pin at the hatch on both sides...pair of needle nose pliers handles that.
-The hinges on the rear glass are held on by two bolts...they're a torx head, but I can't remember the size.
-Put glass somewhere that it won't be broken.
