Liftgate Window Latch Sensor

Hello all. The latch for the liftgate window would not open. I was able to pry it open and had to order a replacement. I noticed a button (sensor) that made contact with the latch before removing it. I could only see the contact area and now I'm unsure how it connected to the latch (or elsewhere). Can anyone please advise me on how it attaches so that the door ajar goes off when the window is closed? I will post some pics of the repair once I get the replacement part. Thanks for the help.
