Hey guy's I dont know if I am the outsider here but I am doing a prerunner 4dr X. I have been looking for a 4" lift to run some 32's. Any opinions on what the best 2wd lift is? What were your experiences ie problems with that lift?

Thanks,
Tom M.

I'm buying a 4wd one this weekend to mod into a prerunner. What price range are you looking at. My friend has a Pro Comp Stage 3 lift on his running 33's and it does great in the dirt. Flying down roads at 65 is no problem and the occasional air here and there does it good. If you're looking into something serious or to chase with here are a couple of places that I would suggest. www.camburg.com Check out the lifts for the rangers on that site. Also www.autofab.com This guy is expensive but his work is awesome. www.perrysfabnfiber.com Talk to Perry, he could probably point you in the right direction also. I'm sure there's lots of places in AZ to get it done. check out Fly-n-hi! I think they're in AZ and I've heard they do good work.

Thanks, Shirk100. I know of Fly-N-Hi they do good work but are a little out of my price range right now. I am tossed between Fabtech & Procomp. Beleive it or not its hard finding a shop out here that deals with 2wd. By the way I am going moderate for now seeing how this is my first real offroad vehicle. I can tackle all the suspension myself, see I come from the custom vehicle world just the low side of it. My best friend converted me with his 4Runner lifted 9" Thans for the help

i would go with camburg or atleast fab-tech

Could you tell me more about camberg. I have never heard of it. Is there somewhere I can check it out. I noticed you are from Mesa anygood shops that deal with 2wd lifts that you know of. Any info would help me out.

Thanks
Tom

The Camburg stuff is sick!! They're high end stuff is high quality and capable of some serious driving. You can jump the f$%k out of it and it'll do fine. Their lower end stuff is comprable to FabTech just not as popular because they are not as widely distributed. They're located in Hunington Beach, Ca. but I'm sure you can get their stuff in AZ. look at their page www.camburg.com If it's between Pro Comp and Fab Tech I personally would go with Fab Tech cause it's possible to upgrade to better stuff with most of their kits. Pro Comp's kits can only be beefed up so much but I've definately been impressed with my friends ride.

yeah camburg is the best of the best for a manufactured suspension systems i so badly want to order there radius arms with heim joints but 800 bucks is alittle high for me right now for some radius arms now for a 2wd shop i don't know of any but 4wheeler supply in phoenix does some six prerunner kits if u go there just check out there race truck one more thing we are starting a explorer club check it out under serious explorations

on more thing camburg has a project ford explorer 4x4 it's all entirely custom

If you got a 92 why don't you just get the Skyjacker lift. They have it for 4wd and 2wd Explorers?

Cmartin,
How do you know about the Camburg Explorer? Are there pics of it anywhere? I'd be interested in checking it out. Maybe I'll swing by there shop on e of these days, I only work about 15miles from there.

i emailed them a couple of days ago asking about specs for there radius arms and they replied ot my questions and sent me some pics of the susp on there project explorer go search there sight might be some pics

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found the pictures on their web page. I'll have to check them out when I'm ready to do mine!

i've heard mixed things about camburg. I have the Fabtech lift and it rides like a caddy. Handles offroad and jumps very well. Just make sure to get new leaves for the back instead of blocks. I'd go with Fabtech over Pro comp. I think the pro comp will ride hard, but on the other hand its more than likely a little more resonable than the Fabtech.

i have never heard anyone talk bad about camburg maybe if your truck is for looks and u think takin it out is going 50 down a dirt road then u might not like it

what i was meaning is that, i didnt like some of the welds that i saw.. What i saw the weld on,was on of the prerunner bumpers that they made..Just didnt look like it would hold up that well. Of course that was just the bumper and not the suspension.
The reason i went with fabtech over otheres is because it was the only kit at the the time for 2wd. I would of done things differently now that i know more. I could have done some nice mods if i went to fab shop, but didnt know that much at the time. Now that i know i've been looking to do more.
Maybe try donohue. I'm not sure if there site is back up or not. They have some cool stuff and make anything you want too.
