Lifts for a 1st gen?

wow you all took that way wrong! how old are you guys!

old enough to get annoyed with a noob who comes in and tells us he is too busy to search and that we should just organize and present all the information in a thread he clutters the forum up with just so he can view it when it is convenient for him.

There are stickies on the subjects of lifts AND if you use the search button or just randomly browse the forum, you can find DOZENS of threads answering your questions in just a matter of minutes.

yep. it ok mayne...everyone is a forum noob in the beginning.

i didn't mean to offend anyone and sorry if i did!

The single most important thing to remember when you lift a first gen is.... You'd better have about 1k you can just blow if you want it to happen fast.

if not then by a jeep, get a quadratec catalog, call them and go ship me the one on page 42

this is great stuff right here

I didn't want to open another lift thread from somone with only 11 posts who obviously didn't search out anything-- but I am sure glad I did those vids are priceless.

This thread ranks right up there with the weekly "What size of lift do I need to run XYZ Tires". Or the I just got my explorer yesterday and I want a million horsepower but get 800 miles to the gallon so I am swapping in a nuclear sub engine-- What will I need?"

To the OP, I don't want you to misunderstand, it is not just that we don't want to have to say the same things over and over again. The big problem with people asking the same questions over and over again is it becomes harder to find all the pertinent information when you have to spend longer sifting through dozens of useless threads started by people who randomly start new threads instead of reading the basics.

This is the main reason why people really want you to read the old threads and stickies. This kinda stuff clutters the forum and makes it harder for everyone to find the information they want.

As a newbie I didn't know that was an option. I tend to prefer homefries over hashbrowns...I'm usually up at 5 and eggs over easy are my preference...just saying...oh, coffee black too....

Btw, umm, I have a question unrelated to this thread. I was thinking about putting a 351 in my Explorer...what do I need to do to make this happen? I don't have much money....I'm also not a good mechanic, so can you guys just hook me up with like a 10 step guide or something?
Also, links to cheap parts! Thanks in advance!

;)

oh, thats easy. just find someone with a bronco who is sick of horrible gas mileage, offer your explorer in trade, get the bronco, and bam.. you're done. v-8 powered.

if you mean engine swap then i assume this is a joke.. never can quite tell

Was very much a joke...I need to work on my sarcasm skills lol.

I traded my dad my vehicle w/terrible V-8 mileage for my current Ex...funny how going from 10 - 17 mpg makes such a big difference :)
No V-8 for me, thank you!
