Light Bar question...

OK so while I was on vaction in Hawaii for the past 10 days I decided I would like to add a light bar to my X. I just was on Westin's site and saw that they had a Safari Light Bar for the '96-'01 Explorer. Can this also be installed on the '95 model? What is so different about the '96 model?

You might have to drill an extra hole into the frame to put that bar in. If you do it, sprayh the hole with rustoleum to prevent rust. I have one one my truck and it looks great! Have fun

Here's what you can do:

Drive around to dealerships and see if they have any 96-97 X's on the lot. Take a look underneath and see if you find any differences between your's and the 96. If someone comes out just tell them you are looking.

I think it has to do with the bumper and they way it's mounted. Dosen't hurt to look.

If it requires drilling a hole I won't be adding the bar. Jonny 5, I really like the way it looks on your X but I have never installed anything before and I'm not going to drill into the truck for my first installation. I e-mailed Westin so hopefully I'll get a response soon. I guess I could call them too and ask.
