My driving lights that were installed about 3 months ago went out last night. There were on, and just went out. The are wried right to the battery and chassis. The inline fuse at the battery is fine. The switch does not even light up? any ideas what may have happened ?

Maybe the switch or the relay burned out. Have you checked all the power and ground connections?

yes. connections are good. could be the switch?

You should try bypassing the switch and see what happens. If that works then it's the switch. You can also try bypassing the relay to see if it's the relay.

this is kinda new to me so, type s l o w l y. how do I bypass? A jumper wire from + and - or what? please advice.

Supply positive power to the power terminal of the switch or that of the relay. If they're still good and all connections are good, the lights should come on.

I bought a new switch. Didn't help. I cleaned and re-attached the power lead to the battery and still nothing. I would think that if it was a ground problem, the inline fuse would have blown but, it's fine. Could something have caused both the bulbs to blow without tripping the fuse ?

have you checked the relay yet?

I think you should bypass the relay and the switch first. Go test the light first. Run a wire straight from the positive terminal of the battery to the positive wire of the light. If it did no good then you need new lights. If its good then test the relay and then the switch.

What caused the light to blow is hard to tell. Maybe you got some moisture inside the light or you short circuited some wires under there, it could many things.
