Just noticed today that my 99 Mountaineer does not have any lights on any of the doors.....My 97 Sport does.. I didn't take the plastic cover off to check for a bulb yet but was wondering if there should or shouldn't be any door lights....

Heck, my Sport has a hood light and my Mounty doesn't..strange.

I don't think there should be a light there. My aunt's '99 Limited didn't have it. I'm guessing Ford did away with the lights is because puddle lamps under the mirror on the higher end models are more than adequate.

My 04 Eddie Bauer also has no lights in the door. Just the puddle lights. I think the puddle lights are the coolest things.

in 98 they did away with them..cost cutting

As Ak LTD explorer said...they di away with them in 98

About halfway through 97, they took out stuff liike courtesy lights, and the glove box lock.

Supposedly in 98, it was advertised you could get a 98 for the same price as a 97 the year before.....Wonder why:rolleyes:

my '00 mounty has the door lights mounted underneath the side mirrors, when ever i press unlock on the wireless remote they turn on as do the interior lights...

Now I know why my 98 doesn't have a glove box light even though the owners manual refers to one.

anybody ever add the door panel lights to the rear doors like the front doors have? I'm thinking about adding some to mine, as well as adding some under dash footwell lights. since I wanna run them off the same circuit as the door lights it won't be too hard to wire them up.
