Please help. I and my friend on the Explorer constantly lit headlights. When the machine is wound up or the ignition key ON. The light switch is turned off. If you clear the fog lights fuse 15A, the light is not lit. So it should be? Thank you!

People help! In Russia we have very little information about American cars. Has anyone encountered this problem? Headlights must burn so?

It may be your Headlight switch, They do tend to stop working over time. I'm not sure on your mechanical/electrical skill, but I would test it before you buy a new one, because I am assuming since you do not have Ford Explorers everywhere in Russia, that it may be expensive to get a replacement.

On the odd change you're right. We have spare parts are expensive.
Is there any way to check?
Dimensions in the headlights are lit when the switch is in the OOF. Ignition switch to ON. And only the front lights are lit. I was also embarrassed that this problem is not just me.

Maybe a previous owner modified it to be that way?

try switching the relays around in the power distribution box under the hood. you may have a relay that's sticking closed and not responding to the headlight switch. number the relays by location first so that you know which one came from where if you find it changes something. that way you'll know which relay needs to be replaced. in the U.S. they run around $10-$12 apiece.

I'm sorry. I do not understand how do I find the relay. I understand very little English.
I would be very grateful if you took pictures of the relay. relay that I need to pay attention to.

If I remove the relay by turns, it can lead to breakage.

How can I put picture here?

well, i speak no Russian so... under the hood, near the brake master cylinder, you should see a black plastic cover approx 3x6 inches in size. remove the cover and you'll see a bunch of black square relays. if you have an owners manual, look to see which ones are related to the lights. start with those. they should just pull straight out with a little wiggling. the relays are interchangeable as long as they have the same pin/blade configuration on the bottom.

if the headlights are on when they shouldn't be, pull relays one at a time until the headlights go off. then try switching that relay with another similar one and see what happens. good luck.

sounds like daylight running lamps to me - especially since another one has the same 'problem'

I get it. I'll try to do so. Thank you so much!
'll Let you know what's the matter ended.

my Daytime running light module ( DRL ) failed, the headlights stayed on when the vehicle was off. All 3 explorers I've owned this has happend to. Try unplugging the DRL module located ahead of the Drivers side front wheel well. Switches( Light Switch & Multi function Switch) have been known to fail also.

I changed seats and disconnects the relay, it is still the light is on when the ignition. If I pull the fuse, the problem is solved. But do not light fog lights.
Send image DRL module, I can not find it.

I believe that what you are describing is not a problem, but normal operation of the DRL (Daylight Running Lights) system. This system is typically not installed in US cars, because US laws do not require lights to be on in daytime, but some countries like Canada, do. The DRLs are actually high beams at low intensity and should appear less bright than regular low beams. Not sure about your model, but in my '98 the DRLs turn off when the parking brake pedal is pushed, so that may be the easiest way to confirm.
If your EX has the DRL module and you remove it, you will have to replace it by a shorting block, or your headlights won't work properly. You can probably order this part, but I would just let it be the way it is.

I guess you're right. My concern in vain, because my EXP from Canada. I'll check the light when the pedal is depressed. I'll let you know later about the result.

I recon 1998Exp is correct. That is a perfect description of DRLs.
Headlights on, but tails off? Check.
Only happens with Ignition in 'RUN' position? Check.
Goes out when fuse/relay disconnected? Check.
Exported from Canada - I believe you've found the issue my friend.

Thank you all for your help! We are very grateful. We thought that we had electrical problems. =)
