Limited 96 Needs Shocks!!

well.. its time.. the lowering kit on this truck ruined the shocks.. now i want to do it right..

i know the limited has air ride... but is it ONLY with the factory shocks? can i buy after-market shocks and still have the air ride, i dont know.. im not much of a mechanic myself.

the reason i ask is because i want to do the BEST by my car.. i dont want to mess up the suspension for the ability to sky-jack it, or lower it and ruin way more than i would like..

any help.. please.

dont let this thread die like my last one.. i still think i got ripped off fixing my doors..

Please don't double post.

I hear the Edelbrocks are a good choice for lowered X's, but I'd go with Bilsteins. I think those are your application specific choices.

And the air ride is built into your factory shocks. Replacing the shocks would disable it.

thats just it.. i dont necessarily want to drop it.. i want to remove the drop and replace my air shocks with another shock that allows me to have the same air-ride system... either that or just get the ford parts from the dealer.. i like the ride.. but if there are aftermarket parts available then i would LOVE to have those instead...


so.. know any shocks that allow the air ride? or that have the air ride set up? i just want to keep that feature... its very nice.

Factory shocks

I got mine replaced less than 2 years ago and they're already leaking, I'd avoid the factory ones as I got less than 24K miles from them.
