Limited Slip and Mobil 1 Syn Gear Oil

I'm taking a long trip in my x today so last night I decided it was time to drain and refill the transfer case and front and rear diffs with synthetic.

I have a limited slip rear and put in Mobil 1 75W90, but did not add friction modifier. The bottle says it prevents chattering in limited slip diffy's and I seem to remember someone saying friction modifier was not necessary with Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil. Is this right? Should I add friction modifier or no?

You don't need to. I have the exact same setup as you, limited slip with synthetic 75w90 and no friction modifier, and have no problems. The synthetic already has the conditioners in them. You are good to go as is!

Thanks for the response, it made me feel better about taking my trip-- about 600 miles and I even drove some unmaintained roads with no chattering or other problems.
