Limited Slip Diff in '02 Limited

Guys: I am impressed by how satisfied all are with the X's My 2002 2wd XLS slips on dry asphalt if is a little uneven! I guess this is due to the short suspension travel in the rear independent suspension. I am looking for a solution so I can toe my Race Car up a Hill. I was thinking of a LS but Rusty recomended a locker. Isn't that too strong for daily driving? Who sells them?

My '02 with an open carrier does the same thing going up my driveway. It's an uneven dirt incline and when it starts to rock a little I feel one wheel or the other want to come off the ground, then that wheel will spin.

Woud disconnecting the rear sway bar help? I've heard other people say that they disconnected the rear and leave it off and they don't really notice a differance.

that's because of the sway bar, they are not made to articulate. And that is not a normal driving situation where you need more than about 8 inches of articulation. There are only a few stock suspensions that will handle that.

As a test disconnect one side of your rear sway bar and try that hump again, you'll see what I am talking about it will climb right up. There are many people that remove them totally (I did on a ranger I had) and it worked so much better on the trails. But if your doing towing do not disconnect your sway bars, you will regret it in an emergency situation.

I am struggling with the same thing, I want a good tow vehicle however I also need something good on the trails. Towing comes first since I have my family with me when I tow, then off road. I've thought about trying an Aussie but I have major concerns with it's ability to be smooth operating in towing situations.
