what are my options for a limited slip in my 1999 Explorer 5.0 awd?

There is a good chance you already have it. If you a factory towing pkg then you most likely have it. You can get the whole rear from the junk yard. If you are looking for aftermarket parts then there a lot of threads on that in the modified section.

We all have 8.8" rear gears. You should use a second gen rear as they have thicker axles than the first gen.

it's probably D4 or 3.73 gears limited slip

I found a D2 in the junk yard today or 4.10 limited slip but that would throw off my speedometer unless I lifted and upgraded the tires
