Sure wish Ford could turn that around.

Geez, this has just not been my experience with my 2020. So far it’s been pretty impressive. Knock on wood.

The warranty on our 2020 ST expired this week. Someone in my family is adamant that extended warranties are a complete and total waste of money. I chose the path of least resistance and look forward to a future of high repair bills.

I purchased a 7yr/85K Premium Care for $1525 last week. It's worth it! I've had many repairs already in just 3 years under factory warranty. I now have 34K miles.

Gee my 2021 Limited has been fantastic! Had some rattling underbody covers but thru the help of this group, fixed that up pretty easily. Knocking on wood as well...

I don't believe 1 thing CR says about any vehicle. They are a joke.

Did you get that ESP through Joel? Just curious as it seems I've seen better deals through him before.

I agree with you that the Ford Extended Warranty is worth it, especially if purchased through Joel. However I am in the minority in my family, so oh well. Looking forward to those upcoming repair bills.

I bought it from Anderson & Koch in MN. It was the lowest compared to Flood or Lombard Ford. Also it was less on cyber Monday.

Once they admitted to lying and not testing all of the products they review, I quit paying attention to anything they write. They are in a trust business. Once they broke it, they won't get it back.

I have a leased 2020 ST that was built in December 2019. When I went to pick it up there was an electronic glitch that required lengthy repair tests and trial and error to fix. The vehicle was delivered to us 2 days later 150 miles from the selling dealer. At that point, I was glad we had leased instead of purchasing it. Surprisingly, it has been trouble-free since. With over 30,000 miles and only 4 months left on the lease, we are leaning towards purchasing it. Love the power of the 3.0 TT. Did swap out the wheels/tires for some light weight 18" TSW's and Summer Pilot 4 suv's that eliminated 19 lbs each wheel, over 75lbs of un-sprung weight. Amazing how the handling and stopping improved. Also kept original wheels/tires like new, in case I do decide to replace.

This vehicle replaced a 2017 Leased Explorer Sport, which replaced a Flex 3.5 TT that was traded in with 114K, and with no warranty repairs in 7 years of ownership.

Maybe.... I'm lucky, though I did have to pay for a new engine in the Flex at 35K miles after tuning it over 100 times and having ringland fractures due to lugging the engine while spraying methonal... Even though it was the first TT Flex that broke into the 12's, it was an expensive trophy reward.... Only other real costs in 114K, were a new transfer case at 98K, and brake rotors/calipers and some control links near the end of ownership. Most over achieving vehicle I have ever owned.

^^Welcome to the Forum Bob.

I don't know if they actually test ALL of the reviewed products or not. I believe they rely mostly on survey feedback from consumers, thus the name Consumer Reports. I have, over the years received many surveys to fill out and submit to them.

We don't buy many vehicles and a lot of them are used.

We have had 2 experiences with extended warranty:

Vehicle 1
- My wife fell in love with a Lexus SUV and in spite of my objections, bought it.
- Everyone kept saying that Toyotas are super reliable, but since it was our first experience, I bought the extended warranty
- I am so glad that we did, as that POS needed a ton of engine work over time, mostly but not only a new head gasket and other stuff difficult to reach - and she babies that thing.
- Just a spark plug change is a big deal as the top of the engine has to come apart to change them
- We made out like bandits / saved a lot by buying that warranty
- The costs were like 10x what I paid for the warranty

Vehicle 2
- BMW 3 series
- In general we have had good luck with them, but we bought a used one for the 2 almost college age kids to commute to community college.
- Before you think that they are spoiled, my wife can find a gem in a coal mine and a 3 series saved my older son's life during an accident.
- Anyway - we decided to buy the ext warranty due to the vehicle 1 experience
- We never made a single claim on that car - it ran and still runs like a champ - it is a 2013.

So it is hard to know what will happen I guess.

safety tech really has evolved over the years. now vehicles crumble around you to save you. the focus of old rigs was to plow through. two different approaches. will say though safety has changed greatly over the last 3 decades especially, and sometimes you dont get a second chance, so safety is always key ;)

That I could accept. The last straw was when they admitted they rated Toyotas based only on reputation, nothing more.
