Ok, I have a 96 xlt without a changer control button on the stock head unit. Im tryng to do an install and keep things looking as stock as possible for various reasons while still looking good. I really do not care for the looks of most aftermarket decks and anything I like is about half the cost of the car itself.

How can I wire in a line level convertor? the I do have auto set button do I have a factory amp or no? which wires do I need to use pins or colors. I would rather wire it up as far back in the cargo area as possible.

I plan on using a PPI 250 and a JL W3 Ive had laying around. I also may move over an ID MAX and Alpine MRV 1507 if I decide to sell my truck.

ok first grab a beer this might be awhile then go to your truck, the rear speakers nned to be pulled out both of them take 18ga wire from each speaker to the back where you want your amp then splice into your speakers reinstall them and go to the back splice in the right side pos. then the neg. to one pair of the 5 wires in the back of the converter there will be two pair and a single then the other left side make sure pos. to pos. neg. to neg. or it wont work. the last wire is your ground and it can be left alone, or if you have noise after install then go ahead and wire it to a ground source. take your rca's plug them in and go and get a small screw driver straght blade for the converter turn all the way down and back up 1/4 the way turn radio on confirm sub operation by feeling for vibration if none heard and slowly match radio , gain on amp, and the converter now go in sober up hug wife for taking so long and go enjoy! good luck
