Driving to work this morning the check engine light came on and the tach. went to 0. The X was still running fine, didn't notice or feel anything. Also thought the voltage needle was low. The check engine light has been coming on in the mornings only for a few minutes. Any ideas, I'm planning on joining everyone at Frank Raines and Hollister this weekend and would hate for the X to break down.

Anyone? HELP!!!!!!

BUMP!

Did the Speedo go to zero also?

Nope the speedo stayed stable just the tach dropped.

Bump again! Com'on people! Anyone????????? Please a little help!

Humm that is really odd... The only thing i can think of and the reason i asked abut the speedo was a fuse got knocked lose, but that doesn't seem like the problem. So i am not able to help you.

COMMOCOZY: Thanks for responding and at least attempting to help me. Where is everyone else????????????

Bump! Anyone had these symptoms????????????

Have you pulled the codes yet? That would be the first step to solving your problem.

peace

Mike

Thats a good idea Mike. I need one anyways. The only problem is that its very intermintent. The check engine light doesn't stay on for very long 2-3 mins. Also this was the first time I noticed the tach going to 0. She ran fine this morning, but I'll go buy a code reader anyways. You have any idea how much they cost?

you can get one at WalMart for @$25. Even though the lite is intermittent it should be a stored code and you should be able to retrieve it. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully or it could give you false reads. But once you figure it out it's a snap.
Personaaly I think it is a combo of 2 separate problems..but we'll see.
let us know.
