Little Muffler thingymajig....

I have an '02 Sport, I noticed that it has a smaller muffle, probably a resinator, near the back of the exhaust system?

Is my assesment correct, will it do me anygood to have it removed? Change the sound of my 'X'?

Mine did not have anything like that. Just straight pipe back from the muffler.

My 'X' is a 5 speed manual... I wonder if thats where some of the Horse power is going, compared to the auto mine is down 4hp.. Autos 207hp
5 speed manual.. 203hp.

Think it may be worth it to have it removed and see?

All I know is i just had one welded on... A resonator is pretty much free flowing, there are no baffles, just wave guides.. so my guess is no

performancewise and soundwise, removing it really wont do much at all.... just a waste of money basically......
