I know this is the Explorer forum but I figured I'd ask since my questions have ALWAYS been answered fast and there's alot of great tech and info here.

Just got an '86 F150, 302, 4spd, NP208(?). The heater core leaks a good bit so I bypassed it. Looks like the whole dash will have to come out to replace it. I don't have a garage or shop to work on it(inside) so is there a good way to stop the leak for the time being, just until the warmer weather?

Also, the 4WD quit. Was running down the road with the hubs locked, in 2WD and the truck was pulling hard to the side. There was a bang and ever since then no 4WD. When I put it into 4WD the front DS spins but I only have 2WD. Maybe I roasted a hub?

Yep sounds like you blew a hub. Have you looked at them?

Not yet. What exactly should I be looking for? I'm pretty sure the front end is an open diff, how would I tell what side I blew the hub on?

I would think there should be visible damage to the hub.

Not that I can tell. I can spin the selector on the hubs to lock or free and it clicks but no 4WD.
