Can anyone tell me where is the switch that actuates the parking brake (or e-brake, if you prefer) dash light on a 1999 Explorer?

I just redid my parking brakes (along with just about everything else) on a vehicle and the light keeps coming on. I think it is a simple connection issue, since everything else is new and dialed in correctly.

It should be behind the e-brake pedal assembly, as the light is activated by the pedal depressing the "plunger" on the switch. It may need to be adjusted, and/or the return spring on your pedal assmbly may be weak enough to let the pedal hang just low enough to activate the light, but not enough to activate the e-brake. (like the one currently driving me nuts on my Sable)

Also, keep in mind, that dashlight also serves as a warning light for a low fluid level in the system. Double check your fluid level/make sure there are no leaks.

Ditto on both counts, with the exception that both the fluid level sensor and the e-brake switch GROUND the circuit for the light. When the pedal is returned (released) the tip of the arm depresses the plunger on the pin-switch and opens the circuit. Depress the pedal, the pin pops out and closes the circuit, and the light *should* come on. There's just one screw and one wire holding it on. (I need to replace mine)
