I have been on Ebay for weeks trying to get some Dodge/Chrysler Turbo vents.
I happened to mention that I preferred the Daytona Turbo vent, instead of the Lebaron two smaller one to a seller. Well he was super nice went out and found it for me in the junk yard he gets he parts from. I comes complete with the drip pan. Now that is going to save me tons of time trying to Jury Rig it.
I am hoping to install it forward on the hood to sit just after the radiator (if it fits flat on that part of the hood). This would take great advantage of the rising heat. If it it looks like the curve of the hood will be a problem, i will sit the vent further back above my intake manifold.

Hop to it we wanna see it installed! ;)

I get it a day before I leave for Cape Cod. I was thinking of working on the truck while my wife and daughter were at the pool, but I want to remain married.

Pics will come, fail or pass...lol

I hope it works out for you. Are you going to have enough clearance?

I have seen it done before on a gen3 like mine by a user named Anrev (can't find him). It was set back on the hood, but I don't know if it had the drip pan installed. I really would like this right in front of engine to vent all the radiator heat right out the top. I can always make a new drip pan if needed.

Excuse my ignorance but what is this for?

Yep...

I want to go electric and this will help a lot.

Ok you've peaked my interest. By going electric are you trying to increase HP or improve cooling. If it's for HP, how much can you expect to gain?
When you get it installed please post some pics.

Never mind. I'm reading your posts on you fan project now. Very interesting.

Just mpg. I got to keep this truck for long as possible.

I had to put a hold on the electric fans, because the prema-cool one burned out and the spal controller (old version) required a 15 degree swing before it would work in low and high mode. so essentially the fans would run non stop. I plan to upgrade to the new spal controller, because it it more precise and I can set low and high temps within few degrees of each other.

IF I can get the vent to sit right above where the current clutch fan is, it would be a very effective way of keeping the truck cool. My hopes is to keep the duty cycles on the fan/s to a minimum.

One problem so far. During my fan test I used them long zip clips that you put through the radiator and may have collapsed a few of the tubes. Now my truck actually goes to over 215 degrees when AC is blasting and I am idling. It never did that before. I have had it sit idling 90+ degrees with AC on max and it never went over 204degrees. So It looks like I need a new radiator, because I don't know how to the collapsed tubes.

I will have to pick up my turbo vent project in about a week when I get back from vacation.
