Hate to say it but it looks like a 17 year-old with rich parents owns it! Anyway, the thing looks great other than the clear tails. The doors are awsome, I can't even imagine how much time went into that!
taxxman2K: The limiteds have the flares the same as the body color.
P.S. - my comment about 17 year olds isn't meant to piss anyone off, I was there many years ago and I'm just jealous! Clear tails just say "hi school" to me!
Ok, I have some info to share about this truck after I talked to the owner at the Indy Truck Bash today. The rollpan is from an F150, and it took 50+ hours to mold it and get it to fit on the Ex. The truck is also the first known bagged Explorer with FULLY FUNCTIONAL four wheel drive system. I was wrong in my earlier post. The front back mounts are on the top of the a-arm. NICE TRUCK.
dont know how old this thread is.. but has anyone else noticed that the tailgate is a 95-97.. yet it has altezzas? whats up with that? someone suggeste that they modified the tailgate, but thats a lot of work for some taillights.
i talked to the owner about this, they are 98+ taillights that bolt right up to the 97 explorer. with the lift gate closed the DO NOT line up with the body lines. they stick out about 1.5" and the upper part of the light doesn't line up. but when he is at a show the lift gate IS open at all times so the average person or judge would not pick this out.
I asked him if he was gonna do anything about it, he said NO it don't bother him at all
um, i assume he runs the altezzas at the shows only? just my opinion, and i see the part about the gate being open/ no one noticing, but with it closed day-to-day, that would just look like complete and utter @ss. surely he knows better, having a truck that nice...
wow, now thats interesting, wonder if the judges know that
I was thinking maybe someone had found some altezzas for 95-97.. kinda disappointed lol
it is indeed a very sweet truck, that taillight thing is a bit of a parlor trick tho lol, I bet you're right, no one would even konw except explorer owners like ourselves
