Hey everybody i have a couple of questions. Im looking at an eddie bauer explorer for the years of 02 or 03. Any suggestions on which year i should get? I read some consumer reviews and it looks to me that 03 is the better year. Also which is the better engine 6 or 8? Right now i wouldnt be using it for hauling but in the future i would be. The more feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

As far as year is concerned, I am not sure which is better. Probably the 03 since it is a year after the ontroduction of the new body style and they might have workedout some of the kinks that were in the 02 year. I would deffinitley go for the V8 if you have any intentions of towing. Plus the V8 is just sweet.

Also, where did you think up your user name? That's a nickname that my freinds made up for me when we were in high school and they still call me that from time to time.

the name was givin to me in highschool from my friends. everybody refered to everybody by their last names and mine was to long so the just started saying scotty d.
thanks for ur info

I agree with snocross. I have the '03 v8 and love it! best of all worlds, power and economy. 17-20mpg currently.

I agree. Go for the 2003 w/ V8, but I'd be just as happy with the '02 w/ V8 ;)

I Have A 2002 And I Test Drove The V8 But I Got The 6 And Honestly I Could Not Tell The Difference Between Them...

By The Way I Love It And Would Not Trade It For The World.
Drives So Sweet...

Only diff for me was the 6 seemed like it had the power but the 8 didn't work as hard plus I will be towing and I hate thrashing V6's when I tow. V6 was a little louder on hard acceleration too.

I got the six mainly b/c I won't be doing a lot of towing and it has plenty of power for the driving I do (highway commuting). For where you live, get the V8: you'll use the extra power in the traffic up there. I wish now I'd gotten the 8 since the mileage is about the same and it just loafs along at highway speeds.
