looking for 06-09 navigation system

dont even bother with the factory. you can gain all the same functions with better sound out of an aftermarket. Who do you think makes the ford factory... either pioneer or sony.. the internal guts are the same as the aftermarket units with the cosmetics being different.

In your price range you better save more especially if you want factory for 300-400. most reliable one start in the 600 range for new.

Does the factory in dash nav unit require an external antenna, or is it built in? What about after market in dash navigation units?

it requires an external antenna, i think the antenna attaches to side of the radio on left, but not sure if i am correct. i was told by installers that middle connector is for the subwoofer, but the radio should still work without the subwoofer if you vehicle didnt come with one... my question those does anyone know if the navigation have a built in mic cause i plan using my cellphone with the unit cause hawaii just got a stupid cellphone law where if we are caught we have to pay 125 fine for talking on the cell

The mic is not built into the unit. for vehicles with sync the mic is built in the mirror. To get the entire setup like you are asking for you will be spending alot.

JUST GO AFTERMARKET!

One unit will do all that you are looking for plus more. they will have dvd available in them too.

if i get a mirror with a built in mic from ebay will that work?
what do i need to get for mic?
i seen dealers can install mics in a built mirror?

Do research. contact a dealer. they can tell you what you need. have fun spending well over 1500 for the entire setup (on ebay if you can find it, dealer you will be looking at well over 2k)..

That aftermarket pioneer is looking very sexy for 600 that includes all the same functions as that factory and more....
