looking for a center console cover

little help please!
I love my 96 Explorer but I am in need of some interior help. I just replaced the melted cruise control buttons on the steering wheel ($89.00) ouch! Now I am in need of a replacement center console cover. The local dealer quoted me $245.00 for the small liftable armrest. There has to be a better deal. I been trying to locate possibly an aftermarket provider. Anyone outthere can help out a poor cajun boy I be mighty grateful. Thanks .

is your console broken or is the upholstery gone bad like mine did?

I recovered mine with some vynil from a fabric shop and spent 5 bucks and about an hour learning how to make corners smooth.

a good upholstery shop can also do it for far cheaper than the factory wants.

Same problem here - dog's toenails put a slight tear in the top which had grown over time. Hard to find a piece of gray vinyl to match. Easier to find black to match interior and instrument panel trim. I went with a piece of black leather from a furniture repair store - cost 15$ and about an hour of my time.
